
Minister heads Oman's delegation to GCC Ministerial Council meeting
Oman's Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi led the Sultanate of Oman's delegation at the 163rd session of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held in Mecca in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was chaired by Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al Yahya, and current chair of the Ministerial Council. It was also attended by the Foreign Ministers of the GCC states and Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, GCC Secretary General.
The meeting discussed ways to strengthen Gulf cooperation in political, economic, security, and development fields.
The Ministerial Council also reviewed the agenda items and the efforts made by working committees to implement the decisions of the GCC Supreme Council, as well as progress towards achieving integration and cooperation in the Gulf’s joint efforts.
The discussions also covered regional and international developments, particularly the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The Ministers called for intensified international efforts to end the Israeli occupation forces’ aggression, protect Palestinian civilians and ensure the unobstructed delivery of humanitarian aid.
