The Sultanate and the Republic of India sign the renewal of two memoranda of understanding in the fields of military cooperation and maritime security
The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India signed today at the Ministry of Defence the renewal of both the memorandum of understanding in the field of military cooperation, as well the memorandum of understanding between the naval forces in the areas of maritime security.
The renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of military cooperation was signed for the Omani side by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Al Zaabi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, while for the Indian side it was signed by His Excellency Shri Munu Muhawer Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Sultanate.
The memorandum signed regulates aspects of military cooperation between the two countries in a way that enhances the existing relations as well as the common interests.
In regards to the memorandum of understanding in the field of maritime security it was signed for the Omani side by Major General Saif bin Nasser Al-Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman – Chairman of the Maritime Security Committee, and for the Indian side by the Indian ambassador to the Sultanate.
The memoranda aim to strengthen the existing joint cooperation in the maritime fields and the exchange of common interests between the two friendly countries.
