Oman Air has announced the launch of direct flights between Muscat and Amsterdam, adding the Dutch destination to its growing list of European routes.

The national carrier will operate four weekly flights between Muscat and Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport.

The new route was announced during a signing ceremony attended by Con Korfiatis, CEO of Oman Air, and Pieter van Oord, CEO of Royal Schiphol Group. The event took place as part of the state visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Con Korfiatis expressed his pride in launching the new route to Amsterdam, noting that the service will help create long-term opportunities for tourism and trade exchange.

Pieter van Oord welcomed Oman Air’s launch of direct flights between Amsterdam and Muscat, describing it as a milestone in strengthening relations between the two friendly countries and facilitating travel in both directions.

Flights between Muscat and Amsterdam will initially operate during the summer season using the airline’s latest Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

The route will offer passengers convenient access to Muscat and more than 40 other destinations within Oman Air’s network, including Thailand, Zanzibar, Indonesia, India and Malaysia.
