A delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia visited the Duqm Special Economic Zone where they met with Dr Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidi, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, along with several officials.

The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and exploring investment opportunities in Duqm and other areas under the Authority's supervision.

During the meeting, they highlighted ongoing efforts to develop infrastructure projects aimed at attracting local and foreign investments.

The three-day visit provided the delegation with the opportunity to review the progress of Saudi-funded projects in Duqm and examine recent developments.

They also explored future project plans aimed at achieving economic sustainability and contributing to Oman Vision 2040.

The delegation visited key projects including Ras Markaz and the Fisheries and Food Industries Complex.

Abdulmajid bin Abdullah Al Ansari, Director General of Support Services at the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, stated that the visit aimed to strengthen partnerships and review ongoing projects.

Al Ansari noted that Saudi Arabia has made significant contributions to funding major projects in Oman, including roads and infrastructure for the fishing port.

The visit will help further build the strategic relationship between the two nations and explore additional opportunities for cooperation.

Duqm is a major industrial hub and a centre for promoting innovation and global trade. It plays a vital role in advancing Oman’s progress towards Vision 2040, with a focus on green economy opportunities and the growth of technology-based industries.
