King of Bahrain arrives in Oman

His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, arrived as an honoured guest on a state visit lasting two days.

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said, led the welcoming party for the King at the Royal Airport. He wished His Majesty and his accompanying delegation a pleasant stay.

Accompanying His Majesty the Sultan were: Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik bin Taimur Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs and Minister of Defence; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud Al Busaidi, Minister of Diwan of Royal Court; General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nomani, Minister of Royal Office; Sayyid Hamood bin Faisal bin Said Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior and Head of the Honorary Delegation; Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister; Sayyid Faisal Hareb Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman’s Ambassador to Bahrain; Dr Jumaa Ahmed Al Kaabi, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Oman; members of the Honorary Delegation accompanying His Majesty the King; and staff from the Bahraini Embassy in Muscat.

The plane carrying His Majesty the King was escorted into Omani airspace by a squadron of military aircraft from the Royal Air Force of Oman, accompanying it to the Royal Airport as a gesture of welcome for the esteemed guest.

Following this, His Majesty Sultan Haitham and His Majesty King Hamad proceeded to the hall, passing between two rows of the Royal Guard of Oman.

After a brief rest, the royal convoy, carrying His Majesty the Sultan and His Majesty the King, departed the Royal Airport for Al Alam Palace, where a grand reception, both public and official, was held to celebrate His Majesty the King as an honoured guest of Oman.

As the convoy passed through Muscat Gate, a group from the Royal Camel Corps lined the road to greet the guest, followed by a contingent of the Royal Cavalry and the Royal Guard of Oman, accompanied by a mounted military band, escorting the convoy to The National Museum.

Upon arrival at the reception area in the courtyard of Al Alam Palace, a public welcome ceremony took place, featuring groups of citizens, cultural troupes, and a performance of the traditional “Ayala” art form, chanting phrases of welcome to the distinguished guest.

When the convoy entered the inner courtyard of Al Alam Palace, trumpeters heralded the arrival, and a 21-gun salute was fired in honour of His Majesty the King.

His Majesty then escorted His Majesty King Hamad to the dais of honour, and the National Anthem of Bahrain was played.

Following this, His Majesty the Sultan welcomed the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the King, wishing them a pleasant stay and successful visit.  His Majesty King Hamad greeted his Omani hosts, who included members of the royal family, the chairmen of the State Council and the Shura Council, Ministers, and senior military and police officials.

Accompanying His Majesty the King on the visit is an official delegation which includes: His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King’s Personal Representative; His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs; His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee; Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court; Sheikh Salman bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning; General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior; Nabeel bin Yaqub Al Hamer, the King’s Media Adviser; Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the King’s Diplomatic Affairs Adviser; Dr Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Affairs in the Royal Court; Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy; Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce; and Dr Jumaa Ahmed Al Kaabi, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Oman.
