Foreign Minister visits Oman’s pavilion at Berlin International Tourism Exhibition
Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi made a short working visit to the German capital to view Oman’s pavilion at the 24th Berlin International Tourism Exhibition.
The Minister was shown the diverse tourism attractions offered by the governorates of the Sultanate.
He praised the participation of small and medium enterprises in the global exhibition at the heart of Europe, their pioneering role in innovation and the diversity of services they offer.
Sayyid Badr also reviewed investment opportunities in the tourism sector which reflects Oman’s commitment and openness to various partnerships in this vital cultural, economic and humanitarian sector.
The Minister expressed his pride in the role of the Sultanate as an official partner of the Berlin International Travel and Tourism Exhibition and his gratitude for the efforts made to enhance and develop the country's tourism sector as part of Oman Vision 2040.
He said the tourism sector represented one of the pillars of sustainable economic development, stressing that Oman provided a unique and attractive tourism experience that combined modernity with ancient cultural heritage, picturesque nature and generous Omani hospitality.
Sayyid Badr said the renaissance led by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said was proceeding with steady steps, offering a wise and inspiring vision in the interests of Oman, providing economic and social development and witnessing continuous growth in the tourism sector. He said the Sultanate had the capability to attract more tourists and investments.
The Minister expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and all those working in Oman's tourism sector for their contributions towards enhancing its position as a distinguished global tourist destination.
He praised Oman's Embassy in Berlin and its successful role in organising the official sponsorship of Oman at this year’s Berlin International Travel and Tourism Exhibition.
The event is one of the world's biggest international exhibitions, attracting many countries and travel and tourism companies.
The Minister said he appreciated the facilities provided by the authorities in Germany as well as the German Embassy in Muscat which contributed greatly to the success of Oman's participation in the global event.
