Oman’s Consulate General in Karachi provides a range of services for both Omani citizens visiting Pakistan and Pakistani citizens or residents wishing to visit the Sultanate for tourism, business, trade or investment purposes. These services include:

The objectives of Oman’s Consulate General in Karachi include:

  • Encouraging bilateral cooperation
  • Encouraging cultural, educational, scientific, technical and medical exchanges

Political and diplomatic cooperation

The Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan enjoy close relations, with formal diplomatic ties between the two countries.

As well as the Consulate General in Karachi, Oman has an Embassy in Islamabad and Pakistan has an Embassy in Muscat.

Security and defence cooperation

Military relations between Oman and Pakistan have a long history.

Wide ranging relations between the two countries have built up over the course of many centuries. They are based mutual respect and cooperation. Bilateral relations between the two countries have grown in recent year leading to the development of military relations between them.

A high point in the military relationship between Oman and Pakistan was the signing of a memorandum of understanding in the field of military cooperation between the two countries on October 20th, 2020 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defence in the Sultanate of Oman.

Recent years have seen remarkable growth in military cooperation in the fields of training, military courses and the exchange of experiences, especially as Pakistan is a manufacturer of weapons.

Trade and investment

On the commercial and investment level, the mission of the Consulate General is to encourage Pakistani investors to visit and invest in the Sultanate of Oman.

It also works to pave the way for companies in Oman and Pakistan to explore the possibilities available in the two countries in the fields of trade, investment and services.

The Mission works to enhance trade exchanges between the two countries through coordination with the official authorities and the private sector.

The Consulate General is working to ensure that Pakistani entrepreneurs are aware that Oman Vision 2040, Oman’s tax system and its foreign capital investment law make the Sultanate an attractive commercial location.

Cultural, educational and scientific exchanges

The long-standing friendship between Oman and Pakistan, enhance the cultural understanding and beneficial partnerships between the two countries.
