His Majesty visits the Atatürk Mausoleum
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik visited the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Türkiye, in the capital Ankara, as part of a state visit to the Republic.
In a message in the visitors’ register His Majesty expressed the Sultanate’s keenness to support a message of peace, as a national foundation and direction, wishing the friendly Republic of Türkiye ongoing stability to achieve progress and prosperity.
Designed by Turkish architect Emil Onat, the complex, known as the Anitkabir, was constructed between 1944 and 1953 to be the final resting place of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and first president of the Turkish Republic. It is an important symbol honouring Atatürk and the birth of the Republic.
