His Majesty receives UN Secretary General

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik welcomed United Nations Secretary General António Guterres at Al Barakah Palace this morning.

During the meeting, they reviewed regional and international developments, especially the recent events in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories. They discussed the UN efforts aimed at stopping the war and facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to the area.

His Majesty also discussed with the Secretary General the existing cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Nations and ways to support and enhance their joint work.

The meeting was attended by Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Dr Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, the Head of the Private Office and Hussein bin Ali bin Abdul Latif, advisor to the Private Office.
