His Majesty arrives in Iran for official visit
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today arrived in the Islamic Republic of Iran on a two-day official visit.
An official reception ceremony was held in honour of His Majesty. Upon the arrival of His Majesty’s motorcade at the presidential building of Saadabad Palace in Tehran, Dr Ebrahim Raisi, President of Iran, headed the welcoming party. The Iranian President wished His Majesty and his accompanying delegation a happy stay.
Then, Dr Ebrahim Raisi accompanied His Majesty the Sultan to the dais of honour, where National Anthems of Oman and Iran were played.
His Majesty, accompanied by the Iranian President, then inspected the guard of honour, which saluted him.
After that, the two leaders headed to the reception building, where His Majesty shook hands with senior members of the Iranian welcoming party, who were: Dr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Foreign Minister; Ehsan Khandozi, Minister of Economic and Financial Affairs (Head of the Mission of Honour), Brigadier Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani, Minister of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics; Javad Owji, Minister of Oil; Mehrdad Bazrpash, Minister of Roads and Urban Development; Gholam-Hossein Esmaeili, Head of the President's Office, Mahdi Niazi, Acting Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade; Mohammad-Reza Farzin, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran; Mohammed Jamshidi, Deputy for Political Affairs at the President’s Office; Ali Bagheri, Foreign Ministry Deputy Minister for Political Affairs; Mehdi Safari, Foreign Ministry Deputy Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Ali Najafi Khoshroudi, Iran's Ambassador to the Oman.
Dr Raisi then shook hands with members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty.
Earlier, when His Majesty arrived at Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran, he was received by: Mohammed Mokhber, First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran; Ehsan Khandozi, Minister of Economic and Financial Affairs (Head of the Mission of Honour); Ali Najafi Khoshroudi, Ambassador of Iran to Oman; Ibrahim bin Ahmed Al Muaini, Ambassador of Oman to Iran, several high-ranking Iranian officials and several members of Oman’s Embassy in Iran.
