His Majesty and King of Jordan hold official talks
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik held an official session of talks with King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at Al Alam Palace today.
At the outset of the session, His Majesty the Sultan hailed the King’s visit to the Sultanate of Oman. He wished King Abdullah II and his accompanying delegation a pleasant stay. The Royal guest in turn expressed his sincere sentiments and appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality accorded to him by His Majesty.
During the session, the two monarchs reviewed the progress of the deep-rooted relations binding Oman and Jordan. Their talks also touched on various aspects of cooperation with a view to enhancing fraternal ties and the Omani and Jordanian people’s aspirations for progress and prosperity.
The two leaders also discussed regional and international developments.
The official session of talks was attended from the Omani side by His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers; His Highness Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan; His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nomani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Hamood bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Interior Minister; Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister (Head of the Mission of Honour); Dr Hamad bin Said Al Oufi, Head of the Private Office and Sheikh Hilal bin Marhoon Al Ma’amari, Ambassador of Oman to Jordan.
Meanwhile, it was attended from the Jordanian side by Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince of Jordan; Dr Bisher Al Khasawneh, Prime Minister, Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jaafar Hassan, Director of the King’s Office and Amjad Al Qahaiwi, Ambassador of Jordan to Oman.
