His Majesty and German President hold official talks
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarikand Dr Frank Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, held a session of official talks this morning at Al Alam Palace.
His Majesty the Sultan began by renewing his welcome to President Steinmeier, wishing him and his accompanying delegation a pleasant stay. Dr Steinmeier expressed his sincere thanks and great appreciation to His Majesty for his warm welcome and generous hospitality.
The session reviewed relations between Oman and Germany and discussed ways to develop them in all fields to serve the interests of the people of Oman and Germany and achieve their common aspirations.
There was also an exchange of views on the latest regional and international developments and on matters of mutual interest.
The session was attended from the Oman by His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers; His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of His Majesty the Sultan; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court; General Sultan bin Muhammad Al Nomani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Hamood bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior; Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister; Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance; Dr Hamad bin Saeed Al Awfi, Head of the Private Office; Engineer Said bin Hamood Al Mawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (Head of the Mission of Honour), and Maitha Saif Almahrouqi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Federal Republic of Germany.
The discussions were attended from Germany by Dr Tobias Lindner, Minister of State at the German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Dirk Lölke, Germany's Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman and Wolfgang Silbermann, Director General of Foreign Affairs in the Office of the Federal President
His Majesty and the German President then held a session of private talks.
