His Majesty and German Chancellor hold private meeting

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, held an exclusive meeting at the Chancellery’s offices in Berlin today.

Upon His Majesty’s arrival at the Chancellery, he was welcomed by Chancellor Scholz and senior German government officials.

Then His Majesty attended a working lunch hosted in his honour by the German Chancellor to mark his official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.

During the lunch, His Majesty and Chancellor Scholz reviewed the growing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and discussed ways of upgrading existing cooperation and partnerships to serve the common interests of the Omani and German peoples.

They also exchanged views about a variety of issues of common concern in the context of regional and international developments.

From the Omani side, the lunch was attended General Sultan Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister; Dr Hamad Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; Abdussalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority; Engineer Salim Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals and Sayyid Dr Sultan Yaarub Al Busaidi, Adviser to the Private Office.

From the German side the lunch was attended by Steffen Hebestreit, State Secretary; Dr Jörg Kukies, State Secretary, Janet Schoenberger, Head of the Private Office of the German Chancellor and Thomas Schneider, Germany's Ambassador to Oman as well as a number of other officials.
