Foreign Ministry officials offer condolences at Iranian Embassy in Muscat

Senior officials from the Foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs offered their condolences today at the Iranian Embassy in Muscat over the passing of President Dr Ebrahim Raisi of the Islamic Republic of Iran and his accompanying delegation, following the crash of their helicopter in East Azerbaijan Province, northwest Iran.

They were received by Mousa Farhang, Iran's Ambassador to Oman, along with members of the mission.

The Omani officials expressed their sincere condolences and sympathy to the Embassy, the Government, and the people of Iran. They praised the late President and his Foreign Minister for their roles in enhancing relations between the two friendly countries, affirming the strong ties between Oman and Iran.

The Iranian Ambassador  expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation for their visit to the Embassy to offer condolences. He wished continuous progress and prosperity for Oman and further advancement and flourishing of  relations between the two countries.

At the end of the visit, Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs , wrote a message of sympathy in the Embassy's condolence book on behalf of the Foreign Ministry, praying to Almighty God to grant mercy and forgiveness to the late Iranian President and his companions, and to bestow continued security and prosperity upon the friendly Islamic Republic of Iran.

Those who participated in offering condolences also included  Khalid Al Muslahi, Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs; Ambassador Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel Al Maskari, Head of the GCC and Regional Department; Ambassador Najib bin Yahya Al Balushi, Head of the Protocol Department, and several other officials.
