Foreign Minister receives Secretary General of Dutch Foreign Ministry
Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, received Paul Huijts, Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as part of Mr Huijts visit to Muscat for the latest round of political consultations between the two countries.
The meeting focused on the tragic situation in the Gaza Strip and the need for continued international pressure towards reducing the escalation of violence and secure an urgent ceasefire to ensure the flow of relief to meet humanitarian needs.
The meeting agreed on the need to refrain from targeting innocent civilians, the need to abide by the rules of international law in the conflict and the need to end the Israeli occupation of the occupied Palestinian territories on the basis of the two-state solution.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs; Ambassador Munther Almandhari, Head of the Foreign Ministry's Europe Department; Stella Kloth, the Netherlands' Ambassador to Oman, as well as Dutch and Omani officials.
