Foreign Minister receives phone call from US Secretary of State

Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, received this evening a phone call from Anthony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America.

The contact dealt with the existing relations between the two friendly countries and their aspirations to advance them in various fields in a way that enhances their common interests and achieves further mutual benefits.

The two ministers also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, especially with regard to efforts to maintain the truce in the Republic of Yemen in order to enhance the chances of achieving peace and stability there.

The two sides also discussed the negotiations to resume the nuclear agreement known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and developments in the Ukrainian war.

The importance of intensifying efforts to address issues through dialogue and to seek political and diplomatic solutions in a manner that preserves the independence, sovereignty and peaceful coexistence of countries and peoples was emphasised.
