Foreign Minister meets High Representative of UN Alliance of Civilisations

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, received Miguel Moratinos, UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations (UNAOC), at the headquarters of the Permanent Delegation of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations in New York.

The meeting discussed efforts made to promote understanding and tolerance and efforts to to combat hatred, intolerance and discrimination based on religion or race. The two sides also exchanged views on enhancing cooperation and partnership between the Sultanate of Oman and the UNAOC.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Dr Mohammed bin Awad Alhassan, Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations in New York; Sheikh Humaid bin Ali Almaani, Head of the Foreign Ministry's Global Affairs Department and a number of officials from both Oman and the UN.
