Foreign Minister in phone call with Syrian Foreign Minister

Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman and Dr Faisal Al Mekdad, Foreign Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic held a phone conversation today.

During their discussions they shared their keenness to follow up on areas of cooperation between Oman and Syria and agreed to continue consulting on regional and international issues. They also agreed to give priority to efforts to calm the situation and contain tension and escalation.

They discussed preventing the expansion of regional conflicts, with an emphasis on the necessity of stopping the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people and affirming their legitimate right to self-determination and establishing their independent state.
