Foreign Minister takes part in Voice of the South Summit

Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman, took part via videoconference in the Voice of the South summit meeting, which was hosted by the Republic of India this evening.

The foreign ministers of a number of brotherly and friendly countries took part, within the framework of India's presidency of the G20. The Sultanate of Oman was invited as a guest of honour this year.

In his speech, the Minister stressed the importance of international cooperation with regard to social justice in order to ensure the well-being of all. He called for an exchange of views on best practice on important issues such as food and water security, development cooperation and giving priority to the needs of the most vulnerable groups in society.

Sayyid Badr also highlighted the Sultanate's efforts to develop a comprehensive social protection system in line with Oman Vision 2040 and its national priorities.
