Foreign Minister meets Maltese Foreign Minister

Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, met with Dr Ian Borg, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Malta, within the framework of the Joint Ministerial Council meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union which is being held in Muscat.

During the meeting, they reviewed areas of cooperation between Oman and Malta and agreed on a mutual desire to expand cooperation, especially in the fields of tourism and investment. They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest.

A memorandum of understanding was also signed on cooperation between the Diplomatic Academies of the two countries. This allows the two sides to work jointly in training and research.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Munther Almandhari, Head of theForeign Ministry's Europe Department; Hashil Obaid Al Mahrouqi, CEO of Omran Group and a number of officials from Oman and Malta.
