Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi participated in the seventh joint ministerial meeting between the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and Sergei Lavrov, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation.

The meeting, which  took place at the GCC Secretariat General in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia was chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the  State of Qatar and was attended by the Foreign Ministers of the GCC member states and the GCC Secretary-General.

The meeting reviewed relations between the GCC states and the Russian Federation and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in various fields. There was an exchange of views on several critical issues, particularly the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the unjust Israeli war on Gaza.

Discussions on Gaza focused on efforts to achieve a ceasefire, push forward humanitarian relief efforts, and advance the political process aimed at reaching a just peace based on the two-state solution. The GCC Ministers praised Russia's stance on the Palestinian cause, which aligns with the position of the GCC states.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said, Oman's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia; Ambassador Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel Almaskari, Head of the Foreign Ministry's Department for the GCC and Region, as well as officials from the Foreign Ministry.
