Foreign Minister and US Secretary of State discuss Gaza ceasefire
Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received a phone call from U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
During the call, they discussed developments related to the Israeli occupation forces' war in the Gaza Strip and the efforts being made to reach an agreement between Hamas and Israel for a permanent ceasefire. This would allow sufficient relief aid to enter, halt the bloodshed and humanitarian suffering, and achieve the release of detainees and prisoners on both sides.
They agreed on the urgent need to stop the conflict and continue supporting efforts to achieve a peace that benefits all parties and the region.
The call also touched on the necessity of supporting the Palestinian National Authority politically and materially to enable it to fulfil its responsibilities.
Regarding the situation in Yemen, they stressed the importance of continuing to support efforts to achieve peace and the release of UN detainees and other civilians, as part of the efforts to de-escalate and prevent the situation in the region from worsening.
