A multilateral meeting is being held in Muscat between the National Programme for Fiscal Sustainability and Financial Sector Development (Estidamah) and the US financial services company State Street.

The aim is to strengthen the strategic partnership and explore investment opportunities across various sectors.

The partnership seeks to enhance the competitiveness of the financial sector through sustainable green finance, to attract foreign investments to support economic growth and to encourage financial technology innovation aligned with Oman Vision 2040.

It also includes joint training programmes to equip key national bodies with essential skills and knowledge.

The meeting acts on a memorandum of understanding aimed at advancing the financial sector in Oman through collaboration with investors and business stakeholders.

Attendees include representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Tax Authority, the Oman Investment Authority, the Central Bank of Oman and the Capital Market Authority alongside several Omani companies.

State Street will be represented by Faisal bin Saud Al Nabhani, the company's CEO and regional director in Oman, along with a group of entrepreneurs, investors and investment fund managers attending remotely.

The meeting will review notable achievements in the financial sector and the development plan for Estidamah focusing on green finance initiatives and the capital market.

It will also highlight investment opportunities in emerging sectors such as hydrogen and space.
