His Majesty concludes his visit to Egypt
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik left the Arab Republic of Egypt this afternoon after a two-day official visit during which he held a further meeting with Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The Egyptian President led the farewell party for His Majesty upon his departure from Cairo International Airport. Also present was Abdullah bin Nasser Alrahbi, Oman's Ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the League of Arab States.
Earlier in the day His Majesty met with President El Sisi at his residence in the Qubba Palace in Cairo.
During the meeting, the leaders reviewed areas of cooperation between the two countries and discussed opportunities for promoting cooperation to the mutual benefit of the two countries’ peoples. They also touched on various matters of common concern.
During the second day of his visit, His Majesty also visited the new administrative capital in Cairo, accompanied by Dr Assem Al Jazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities.
His Majesty toured the facilities of the new administrative capital, including the government quarter. He took note of the yard of the Grand Mosque, an Islamic architectural edifice that takes centre stage in the area.
His Majesty had a close look at Dar Al Qur’an (Holy Quran House) at Egypt’s Islamic Cultural Centre where whole Chapters of the Holy Qur’an are carved on the walls. His Majesty was briefed about the objectives of Dar Al Qur’an and the services it offers to the public.
His Majesty also toured the City of Arts and Culture, intended to be a global destination with a range of buildings and facilities.
There His Majesty visited the Opera House and watched a presentation about how it is designed in line with the highest international specifications.
Afterwards, His Majesty visited the Egypt’s Capitals Museum, which tells the story of Egyptian capital cities and their evolution over the ages.
On his departure from Cairo airport, His Majesty sent a telegram of thanks and appreciation to the Egyptian President in which he expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the President for the warm reception and his generous hospitality.
His Majesty praised the opportunity provided by the meeting with the Egyptian President to discuss the strong brotherly relations between the two countries and how to support them in order to strengthen cooperation in various fields and so serve the interests of the Omani and Egyptian peoples.
His Majesty offered his prayers to God Almighty to keep the President in good health and to grant him long life to help him achieve the aspirations of the Egyptian people for progress and prosperity.
His Majesty the Sultan was accompanied during his visit by a high-level official delegation, which included: His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of Diwan of Royal Court; General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nomani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister; Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance; Dr Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; Abdul Salam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Oman's Ambassador to the Arab Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League.
