Egypt: Ambassador meets new Foreign Minister

Oman's Ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the Arab League, Abdullah bin Nasser bin Musalam Al Rahbi, took part in a meeting with Egypt's new Foreign Minister, Dr Badr Abdelatty, in his first gathering with accredited Ambassadors.

The Foreign Minister discussed the severe and unprecedented challenges facing the Arab region noting that these now threaten the existence of the nation-state.

He emphasised the importance of solidarity and understanding between Arab countries to confront these challenges.

He also referred to the acute ongoing crisis affecting the Palestinian cause amidst international silence, reiterating Egypt’s firm stance on the need to end the war and initiate a joint Arab effort to resolve the crisis as soon as possible.

Dr Abdelatty said stability in the region will not be achieved without a just solution to the Palestinian issue and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in line with international legitimacy.

He also highlighted the importance of solidarity and a united Arab voice in facing common challenges.
