Artificial Lift Forum showcases smart technologies in oilfield operations

More than 400 specialists from 30 countries and 106 international organisations are taking part in the 10th Middle East Artificial Lift Forum (MEALF), being held in Muscat.

The event is discussing  the use of artificial lift techniques to upgrade oil well productivity, as well as the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in data analysis to improve operational efficiency.

In his speech, Mohsin Hamad Al Hadrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals said that the forum brings together international experts and specialists to exchange information on the latest innovations in the field of artificial lift—a key instrument in improving the production and longevity of oilfields.

The forum is discussing more than 50 working papers on key operations, including monitoring greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing the sustainability of artificial lift systems and exploring the role of modern technology in improving production efficiency and developing mature oil and gas fields.

The forum is aimed at all personnel operating in the oil and gas sector, in addition to students of Omani colleges, with the aim of developing local competencies.

An exhibition is being held on the sidelines of the forum to showcase the products of major international companies and the latest innovations and technical solutions that contribute to developing the oil and gas sector.
