The fourth round of political consultations was held between Oman and the European Union (EU).

Oman was represented by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, while the European Union was represented by Enrique Mora, Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs at the External Action Service.

During the session, existing relations were discussed plus the need to continue to develop cooperation in all fields.

A number of regional and international issues of common interest were also discussed including the repercussions of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. Both Oman and the EU stressed the importance of supporting political efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire in Gaza and enabling the delivery of humanitarian aid.

The consultations came within the framework of the cooperation arrangements signed in 2018 between Oman and the EU which reflect the commitment of both sides to enhancing cooperation and mutual understanding of current international challenges.

The session was attended by Ambassador Munther bin Mahfouz Almandhari, Head of the Oman Foreign Ministry's Europe Department, Rua Issa Ashraf Alzadjali, Oman's Ambassador to the EU, and a number of other officials.
