Russia: Embassy celebrates National Day
The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Russian Federation held a reception on the occasion of the 53rd National Day in the Russian capital, Moscow.
Hamood bin Salim bin Abdullah Altowaiya, Oman's Ambassador to Russia delivered a speech in which he addressed aspects of Omani-Russian relations, stressing the established principles of Omani policy.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, Omani fashion and traditional women’s jewellery were displayed and Omani books and publications were distributed highlighting the history, achievements and relations of the Sultanate of Oman with countries of the world. Tourist brochures reflecting the reality of development and prosperity in Oman were also made available.
The ceremony was attended by Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian President's envoy to the Middle East and African countries and Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia; Konstantin Kosachev, Vice Chairman of the Russian Federation Council and Senator Muhammad Akhmedov, a member of the Russian Federation Council and head of the Russian representation on the Parliamentary Friendship Committee between the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and the State Council of the Sultanate of Oman. Also attending were members of the Committee from the Russian representation, officials from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a number of Ambassadors to Russia of countries from Asia, Europe and Africa, officials from various Russian government agencies, intellectuals, academics and media professionals in Moscow, Russian businessmen and a number of Omani citizens living or studying in the Russian Federation.
