China: Embassy holds National Day reception

Nasser bin Mohammed bin Khalifa Albusaidi, the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, held a reception on the occasion of the 53rd National Day, which coincides with the 45th anniversary of the start of Omani-Chinese relations.

The reception was held in the presence of Wang De, Head of the West Asia and North Africa Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In a speech to the reception, the Ambassador spoke of the history and development of relations between the two friendly countries since ancient times. He noted that thanks to the harmony between “Oman Vision 2040” and the “Belt and Road Initiative,” political and economic relations between Oman and China were deepening in various fields.

During the reception, the Guest of Honour opened the exhibition “Frankincense Road – Oman in Ancient Chinese Records,” featuring paintings highlighting the rare and distinctive ties between Oman and China. The exhibition, supervised by Second Secretary Nasser bin Ahmed Al Rashidi, was inspired by the texts of Chinese records dating back more than a thousand years.
