Message from the Ambassador
Welcome to the website of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman, in the Federative Republic of Brazil.
On this site you can find information related to the services that the Embassy provides, as well as information regarding the multiple and growing relations between Oman and Brazil.
The continued growth of economic relations between the two countries comes from the development of political relations. These have contributed to the construction of solid bases to diversify the areas of bilateral cooperation through the signature of a set of mutual agreements and memoranda of understanding. Over five decades these have broadened and intensified the horizons of bilateral relations and diversified the fields they cover.
Today, the nature of economic relations between the two countries is such that Brazil is one of the Sultanate's five most important trade partners, while Oman is Brazil's sixth largest Arab trade partner.
We hope that this site will be useful to you. We are fully available to provide the necessary support and information in the context of the consular services provided by the Embassy.
Once again, welcome to the Embassy's website – we are pleased to assist you in your dealings with us.

The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Brasília is the main point of contact responsible for the daily management of the Sultanate's bilateral relations with a total of twelve countries in the South American continent, all of which maintain direct diplomatic relations with Oman. The role of the Embassy covers:
• Strengthening political and diplomatic cooperation.
• Facilitating trade and investment between the two countries.
• Encouraging cultural, educational and scientific exchanges.
Political and diplomatic cooperation
Oman and Brazil are working to build strong relationships, based on dialogue, in order to achieve security, stability and peace for both countries.
The common desire of Oman and Brazil to develop bilateral relations at the political level was reflected in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for Political Consultations between the foreign ministries of both countries in 2018.
The two countries also cooperate further in the field of multilateral international action, with the aim of combating terrorism and piracy and to achieve international peace and security – especially in the Arab Gulf region and the Middle East.
Trade and investment
Economic and trade cooperation between Oman and Brazil has witnessed steady growth in recent years. Trade between the two countries has grown from US$100 million a year in 2007 to more than US$ 1 billion annually since 2012.
The two countries demonstrate a continuous interest in expanding trade flows and in diversifying areas of economic cooperation, through the work carried out by the Joint Bilateral Committee on Economic and Technical Cooperation.
The scale of investment cooperation between the two countries is highlighted by the decision of the Brazilian company Vale S.A., an iron ore processor, to locate a branch in Oman's Sohar province. This industrial establishment represents the biggest foreign investment by Brazil in the Middle East.
Cultural, educational and scientific exchanges
The Embassy works to strengthen beneficial partnerships between Oman and Brazil, diversifying and organising activities in the fields of cultural, scientific and artistic cooperation.
One way it does this is through the signing of memoranda of understanding between institutions of both countries, especially institutions specialised in agricultural research and sport.
