Political Undersecretary meets with World Food Programme representative

Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Undersecretary for Political Affairs, met at the Ministry with Carl Skau, Deputy Executive Director General and Director of Operations at the World Food Programme.

The meeting discussed cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the UN Programme, and ways to enhance and develop that cooperation. The Deputy Executive Director General praised the role played by Oman in many regional issues and its cooperation over food aid to countries affected by conflicts and wars.

The Undersecretary expressed his appreciation for the role played by the World Food Programme in helping the needy in Gaza, Yemen and Syria.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Alqatabi, Head of the International Organisations Department, and Dr Abdallah Alwardat, Director of Government Partnerships and Director of the Programme in Lebanon.
