Ministry says Australian decision backs international efforts on Palestinian issue
The Foreign Ministry has asserted that the announcement by the Australian government to rescind its recognition of West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel backs international endeavours calling for the the necessity of adhering to International Law and UN resolutions related to the Palestinian cause.
The Ministry said the decision is a step towards achieving a just and comprehensive peace, enabling the brotherly Palestinian people to obtain all their legitimate rights and establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution, international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
