Arab Parliament and GCC praise Oman's efforts in securing release of Galaxy Leader crew
The Arab Parliament and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) commended the humanitarian and diplomatic efforts of the Sultanate of Oman, which resulted in the release of the crew of the ship Galaxy Leader. The ship had been held off the Yemeni coast since November 2023, with a crew of 25 individuals from multiple nationalities.
Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, expressed the Parliament's appreciation for Oman's steadfast role in mediation diplomacy aimed at achieving security and stability in the region. He also expressed his hope that this step would contribute to reducing tensions and enhancing security in the Red Sea area.
Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC, praised Oman's efforts, highlighting its firm commitment to supporting regional stability and international cooperation. He also noted the importance of these efforts in enhancing security and reducing tensions in the Red Sea region.
