Oman and UK discuss strengthening cooperation

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received at his office David Lammy, Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom.

During the meeting, the two Ministers shared their commitment to advancing cooperation and developing it across vital and strategic sectors that serve the interests and aspirations of the two friendly countries.

Oman and Britain discuss strengthening fields of cooperation

They agreed on the importance of continuing consultation, coordination and cooperation to strengthen the foundations of security, stability and peace in the region, and to support efforts to resolve issues through dialogue and diplomacy to bring greater benefits to all.

Sayyid Badr reaffirmed Oman's support for the negotiations aimed at reaching a free trade agreement between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the United Kingdom.

The meeting was attended from Oman by Ambassador Munther Al Mandhari, Head of the Europe Department, and from the UK by Sir Oliver Robbins, Permanent Under-Secretary at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and Ambassador Leanne Saunders, the United Kingdom’s ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman.
