His Majesty and Russian President witness signing of agreements
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation witnessed the signing of an agreement, a protocol, and nine memoranda of understanding at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow.
The signing took place as part of His Majesty’s state visit to the Russian Federation.
Among the documents signed were a mutual visa exemption agreement and an economic and technical cooperation protocol to establish a joint economic committee between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Russian Federation.
The memoranda of understanding covered cooperation on climate change and low-carbon development, transport and transit; cooperation between the National Centre for Financial Information in Oman and the Federal Financial Monitoring Service of the Russian Federation on combating money laundering and terrorism financing; cooperation between the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources in Oman and the Federal Agency for Fishery in Russia in the fisheries sector; cooperation in news and information exchange between the Ministry of Information represented by the Oman News Agency and the International Media Agency “Sputnik”; cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy of Oman and the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Federation; media cooperation between the Ministry of Information and Russia Today; cooperation between the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Russian Roscongress Foundation; and cooperation between the Royal Academy of Management in Oman and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
The documents were signed on behalf of Oman by Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi; Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Qais Alyousef; Oman's Ambassador to the Russian Federation Ambassador Hamood Altowaiya, and Colonel Abdulrahman Alkiyoumi, CEO of the National Centre for Financial Information.
On behalf of Russia, the documents were signed by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov; Minister of Economic Development, Maksim Reshetnikov; Minister of Transport, Roman Starovoit, and a number of Russian officials.
