Oman and Qatar sign agreements
The Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and three Executive Programmes during the official visit of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar.
The agreements cover cooperation in diplomatic training, social development, culture, education, sports, and youth affairs.
The first MoU focuses on cooperation in diplomatic studies and training between Oman's Diplomatic Academy and Qatar's Diplomatic Institute in their respective Foreign Ministries.
The second covers cooperation in social development between Oman’s Ministry of Social Development and Qatar’s Ministry of Social Development and Family.
They also signed three Executive Programmes: the first for cooperation in culture and education between Oman’s Ministry of Education and Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education; and two more for cooperation in youth and sports affairs between Oman’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth and Qatar’s Ministry of Sports and Youth.
The agreements were signed on behalf of the Omani government by Sultan bin Salem Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, and for Qatar by Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Minister of Sports and Youth, and Dr Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
