Oman and UNICEF hold dialogue session

The Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the United Nations Agency for Children (UNICEF) held a dialogue session in Muscat to discuss UNICEF's country programme in Oman.

The session, chaired by Sheikh Khalifa Harthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, discussed the programme's priorities for the 2023–2026 period and how to match them with national goals and Oman Vision 2040.

The programme aims to enhance policies, systems and services for children, adolescents and young people – fundamental pillars for a strong and sustainable society.

The session was attended by State Council members, government officials and representatives of relevant state bodies.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, and Sumaira Chowdhury, UNICEF's representative in Oman, also participated.
