Omani Embassies in Washington, Tehran and Spain celebrate National Day

The Embassies of the Sultanate of Oman in the United States, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Spain celebrated the 54th Glorious National Day with diplomatic and cultural events that reflected the spirit of Oman's Renaissance under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

In Washington, D.C., the Omani Embassy organised a distinguished event attended by senior officials from the US government and Congress, as well as academics and Omani citizens.

Sabra bint Ahmed Al Hothi, Embassy Counsellor, delivered a speech highlighting Oman's achievements and its renewed Renaissance. She praised the historic and strategic partnership between Oman and the United States, particularly within the framework of the Free Trade Agreement.

She reaffirmed Oman’s steadfast position on the Palestinian cause, calling for an end to the violence in Gaza and supporting the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state.

Mira Resnick, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Peninsula Affairs, commended Oman's efforts in promoting peace in the Middle East and fostering economic relations between the two countries.

In Tehran, the Omani Embassy held a celebration with a high level diplomatic presence from Iran and the international community.

Ambassador Ibrahim bin Ahmed Almuaini delivered a speech emphasising the strong bilateral ties between Oman and Iran. He also highlighted Oman's advances in clean energy and green hydrogen as part of its ambitious Vision 2040.

The event featured documentary presentations on Oman’s tourism and economy. There was widespread recognition of Oman’s wise policies and its role in fostering dialogue and peace at the regional and international levels.

In Madrid, the Omani Embassy hosted a celebration attended by Naif bin Hilal Alshamsi, Chargé d’Affaires, as well as representatives from the Spanish Royal Palace and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with Omani students in Spain.

All three celebrations showcased Oman’s renewed progress, its role as a regional and international supporter of peace and sustainable development and its appeal as a destination for investment and tourism.
