Sohar Port and Freezone joins alliance for eliminating carbon emissions
Sohar Port and Freezone has joined the Alliance for Industry Decarbonisation (AFID).
Dr Abdullah bin Suleiman Al Abri, Vice President of Sustainability, said membership will enhance the integration of renewable green hyrodrogen and solar energy sources to reduce waste and increase recycling rates.
He said the initiative aligns with Sohar Port and Freezone's strategic objectives and its commitment to driving positive change.
The port aims to contribute to reshaping the future of industry through a transition towards a low carbon world by sharing expertise with global industry leaders and supporting partners in their decarbonisation efforts,
This step also aligns with Oman’s aspiration to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
