Groundbreaking ceremony for Mazoon copper project

Mazoon Mining Company, a subsidiary of Minerals Development Oman, has celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony of the Mazoon Copper Project in the Wilayat of Yanqul in Al Dhahirah Governorate, Oman.

The project is an integrated operation for producing copper concentrates. Covering an area of 20 square kilometres, it includes five mines and a plant capable of processing 2.5 million tonnes of copper ore annually.

The project marks a significant step forward for Oman's mining sector, confirming the Sultanate's position on the global copper concentrate production map and contributing to the expansion of copper value chains.

The project will also promote social and economic development in Al Dhahirah Governorate in general, and the Wilayat of Yanqul in particular.
