A delegation from the International Monetary Fund, led by Cesar Serra, visited the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss economic and financial developments and prospects for key economic sectors.

Hamoud bin Salem Al Saadi, the Second Vice Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, said the private sector formed a key part of Oman’s focus on economic diversification as the main guarantee for the national economy in facing global fluctuations.

He said the Chamber prioritises improving the business environment and attracting investments in line with its strategic direction and Oman Vision 2040 complementing government efforts.

This cooperation has contributed to Oman’s advancement in credit ratings, competitiveness and ease of doing business, he added.

He said the Chamber is attentive to the IMF's reviews and consistently follows its global economic forecasts.
