Minister and UN Secretary General discuss regional and international issues

United Nations Secretary General António Guterres received Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi in New York, as part of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, the Secretary-General praised the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman, under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, in supporting global peace and security, and in promoting dialogue and multilateral cooperation in the region and beyond.

Oman's Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation for the Secretary-General’s wise leadership of the UN and his support for upholding justice, international law, and international humanitarian law.

The meeting also discussed developments on regional and international issues of mutual interest, most notably the situation in Gaza and Lebanon, and efforts to ensure an immediate ceasefire and contain the military escalation in the region.
