Minister meets Turkish Foreign Minister

Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi held a meeting with Hakan Fidan, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, the Ministers discussed the ongoing cooperation between the two friendly countries, expressing their continuing commitment to enhance and develop it across various fields. They also agreed to maintain consultation and coordination on issues of mutual interest.

The two Ministers also discussed the ongoing escalation in the region by Israeli occupation forces, stressing the importance of intensified efforts by international community institutions to halt the continuous regional military escalation and to prevent the expansion of the conflict.

They reaffirmed the importance of a peace process based on the two-state solution, the rule of law and international legitimacy. They agreed on their support for the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
