Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, praised Oman's comprehensive development journey and its foreign policy, describing it as an oasis of security and stability in the Middle East.

The Minister said Oman's efforts to enhance security, peace and coexistence in the region had won special appreciation from the international community.

She made the comments during her reception by Ambassador Dr Mohammed bin Awadh Alhassan, Oman's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.

The Minister called for strengthening the bonds of cooperation and friendship between Oman and Kosovo in areas including investment, education and tourism.  She said Kosovo welcomed Omani students and visitors who wished to study at its universities and see its tourist attractions.

The Minister stressed Kosovo's demand for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and for the protection of civilians.

The meeting was attended by officials from Kosovo's Foreign Ministry and Counsellor Khalid bin Saleh Alrabkhi, Oman's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN in New York.
