Oman denounces UN Security Council's failure to back Gaza ceasefire resolution

The Sultanate of Oman has expressed its regret and denunciation at the failure of the United Nations Security Council to issue a ceasefire resolution in the Gaza Strip due to the repeated use of the veto.

In an official statement, the Foreign Ministry called on the international community and the Security Council to use all initiatives to establish an immediate ceasefire in the region and for the Council not to stand in the way of peace.

The statement called on friendly countries to translate their positions and statements calling for peace into a practical and just humanitarian reality.
