Sayyid Fahd arrives in Doha for GCC Summit

His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, has arrived in the Qatari capital Doha to head Oman’s delegation to the 44th Summit of Gulf leaders

He was welcomed by His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar.

Also in the welcome party were Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC, Sayyid Ammar Abdullah Sultan Albusaidi, Oman's Ambassador to Qatar and Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Qatar's Ambassador to Oman.

On his arrival, Sayyid Fahd said recent developments in Gaza had cast a shadow on the region and more efforts were needed to assure a unified position.

“Oman reaffirms its support for the Gulf Cooperation Council and expresses its deep appreciation to the State of Qatar for its benevolent endeavours to establish security and peace,” he said.

Also in the Omani delegation were: Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi; Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Said Al Saidi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs; Qais bin Mohammed bin Moosa Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; and Abdullah bin Khalfan Al Balushi, Head of the Private Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers.
