Oman says actions of Israeli occupation forces in Gaza constitute war crimes

28 October 2023

The Sultanate of Oman has declared that the continuation of the dangerous escalation in violence, the policy of collective punishment and the grave violations of international law and international humanitarian law carried out by the Israeli occupation forces in their brutal war against the Gaza Strip constitute war crimes.

In a Foreign Ministry statement Oman says the actions of the Israeli occupation forces are crimes against humanity and are contrary to international law and international humanitarian laws and standards.

The Sultanate warns against the consequences of the military ground operations that the Israeli occupation army intends to carry out, saying they threaten catastrophic effects on the region and the world, as well as on the chances of achieving peace and stability.

The statement appeals to the international community to intervene immediately to put an end to the war and to the ongoing Israeli violations, in accordance with the United Nations General Assembly resolution passed on October 27th, in order to spare the blood of innocent people and to allow urgent and necessary humanitarian aid to be delivered to civilians.
