Foreign Ministers of Oman and Japan meet
Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, met with Yoshimasa Hayashi, Foreign Minister of Japan, on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council and Japan, which is being held in Riyadh, capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the 30-minute meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance and support them. They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
After the meeting Sayyid Badr described their discussions as fruitful. He said they had agreed to take the excellent relations between Japan and Oman to new heights.
A Japanese Foreign Ministry statement reported that the Foreign Minister Hayashi spoke about the preliminary agreement between Japan and Oman for the supply of liquid natural gas (LNG), adding that the stable supply of LNG from Oman is extremely important for Japan.
The statement added that the two ministers agreed to promote cooperation in renewable energy such as hydrogen in addition to the traditional energy sector.
