Oman and China celebrate 45 years of diplomatic relations
Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, was guest of honour at a ceremony held by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Muscat to mark the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Oman.
In his speech to the event Sheikh Khalifa said that the celebration demonstrated the depth and importance of relations between the two countries. He added that both Oman and China are working hard to strengthen relations, especially at the economic level, to the mutual benefit of both countries and their people.
Li Lingbing, China's Ambassador to Oman, praised the depth of relations between Oman and the People's Republic, adding that bilateral cooperation between the two countries was developing rapidly and expanding to cover many fields.
During the event, a postal stamp commemorating the establishment of diplomatic relations between Oman and China relations was launched.
The ceremony included exhibits of Chinese pottery and calligraphy and performances by Omani and Chinese musicians.
The event was attended by officials of the Sultanate of Oman, heads of diplomatic missions to the Sultanate and community figures.
