His Majesty and Iranian President hold talks
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Dr Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held a session of talks at the Iranian presidential building in Tehran today.
The session dealt with various aspects of bilateral cooperation between Oman and Iran. The two leaders also exchanged views on a number of issues of common concern in the context of current regional and international developments.
Representing Oman at the meeting were: His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nomani, Minister of the Royal Office and Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister
Iran was represented at the meeting by: Dr Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Foreign Minister, Mohammed Jamshidi, Deputy for Political Affairs at the President’s Office; Ali Bagheri, Foreign Ministry Deputy Minister for Political Affairs and Ali Najafi Khoshroudi, Iran's Ambassador to Oman.
Afterwards at a private meeting, His Majesty and the Iranian President held a further extended session of talks during which the two leaders discussed the long-standing friendship binding the two countries.
The meeting touched on various aspects of cooperation and coordination with a view to promoting the interests of both countries and peoples and achieving their common aspirations.
